The best & largest Mac & Cheese ever! The twice baked potato to die for. Pizza, sandwiches, soup & salad bar. Have never had a bad meal here. The staff is so friendly too. Great for grab & go/take out.
This place isn't cheap, and isn't a huge grocery. It's more of a go for a few items on your way out of town, or for lunch while you're in town. they have a good wine and olive oil selection. I've always found great local craft beer here too. The desserts are delicious. They have a lot of good stuff if you're going to be entertaining guests. It has a great atmosphere, and the parking lot is always crowded.
Meh... When we got our order after 2 other folks that ordered after us had already received theirs, the salad was limp. I ordered blue cheese and was given ranch. Fries were cold and burger was well done when ordered medium. Chicken pot pie was good though.
We own a second home about an hour away in north Georgia, but every time we visit we eat lunch at the Mountain Fresh Grocery... several time! We usually call to see which day they’re serving the mushroom bisque, but we go whether they are or not. A salad and soup bar and hot bar for less than $10 in Highlands is quite a deal and it’s great food!
They have a little bit of everything here. It's classified as a grocery, but restaurant inside has incredible food: sandwiches, burgers, salad bar, pizza, great breakfast as well, and all of it very high quality and high portioned. I love coming to eat here. I try to come here for at least one meal a day when I'm in Highlands.
